When I came up with the idea to make a trilogy with secondary characters from my Halsey Brothers Series, I knew who the heroes would be. The hard part was coming up with a heroine to not only give the hero fits but to also be exactly what he needs. After all, a romance isn’t all sweet talk and roses. Do The Seasons Affect Your Choice Of Reading Material?

Today my guest is Romy Sommer. She brings up a very interesting question. I have to admit that I never really thought about how seasonal reading would differ for those in the southern hemisphere. Welcome, Romy! I recently had a review for my latest book The Trouble with Mojitos which said the following: “I would have said this was the perfect summer holiday read, except it s been released in autumn! Maybe it s the perfect winter holiday read if you re lucky enough to get away to warmer climes this winter.” Which got me to thinking do most readers prefer to read books set in the same season they’re currently in? I live in sunny South Africa where our winters are pretty mild and there’s not a huge amount of seasonal change so it’s never occurred to me to tailor my reading to my season.
